Tree Risk Assessments

While trees provide significant amenity in the form of visual character, landscape value, ecological function and more, all trees still present with a level of risk. Determining the level of risk posed, the level of benefit provided as well as the values and tolerance of risk of land owners and users is crucial to managing tree risk. With multiple tree risk assessment methodologies available and years of experience, we can provide clarity and context to tree risk management strategies.

Land owners and land managers have a duty of care to to take reasonable steps to not cause foreseeable harm to another person or their property.

In addition to helping fulfill these obligations, tree risk assessments can help to identify defects and likely points of tree failure that can be managed to prolong tree presence in the landscape.

Tree risk assessments and audits of tree populations by a qualified expert allow land owners and managers to identify risks and receive best practice management advice while fulfilling their duty of care.
